Future Polytech Celebrates Opening of New Coldwater Manufacturing Plant During Visit from State Representative Angie King
COLDWATER, Ohio — Future Polytech welcomed Ohio State Representative Angie King (R–District 84) to its newly opened Coldwater manufacturing facility, celebrating the company’s continued investment in Ohio manufacturing, job creation, and economic development.
The visit stemmed from conversations held during the recent TRSA Legislative Conference in Columbus, where Future Polytech met with members of Representative King’s office to discuss manufacturing, workforce development, and issues impacting Ohio businesses.
During her visit, Representative King toured Future Polytech’s newly opened Coldwater manufacturing facility, which officially began full operations in April 2026 following a significant investment to transform the former Accutech Films (Shields) site into a state-of-the-art flexible packaging manufacturing plant.

Representative Angie King praised Future Polytech’s investment and the positive impact it is having on the region.

The Coldwater facility also represents an important economic success story for Mercer County. Following the former plant’s closure, a WARN Act notification filed in October 2023 projected the loss of 59 jobs. Future Polytech invested more than $11M to modernize and reopen the facility, creating a new chapter for manufacturing in the region.
That investment has translated directly into employment growth. Future Polytech employed over 40 people at the end of 2024 and has since expanded to 64 employees, with continued plans for future growth as production increases.
The project has also been recognized as a significant investment in Mercer County’s economic future.

During her visit, Representative King toured the new manufacturing operation, met with company leadership and employees, and learned about Future Polytech’s expanding capabilities in flexible packaging and automation solutions that serve diverse markets like commercial laundry, industrial, and distribution markets.
