Celebrating Over 50 Years of Service: Vernard Davis

Vernard Davis has been a dedicated member of the Shared Hospital Services family since December 1975, proudly serving the organization for over 50 years. He began his journey straight out of high school through a work-study program, initially working in the plant where he built a strong foundation rooted in hard work and commitment.

Vernard’s years of service coincides with the 50-year anniversary of Shared Hospital Services. He was the first hourly employee hired after General Manager, Plant Manager, and Controller.

Vernard’s journey started at Shared Hospital Services operating the old Lundell washers and extractors. In the late 1990’s Vernard transitioned to the soil sort department when “new” technology was introduced to Shared Hospital Services in tunnel washers.

He continued to work in the soil department until 2013, when Vernard transitioned into the role of Delivery Driver, a position he continues to serve today with the same reliability and excellence that has defined his entire career. Known for his outstanding work ethic, team-player mentality, and comical personality, Vernard brings both dependability and joy to the workplace. He is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and can be counted on without hesitation.

Vernard truly embodies the values of Shared Hospital Services. When asked why he has remained with the company for so many years, his response was simple and powerful: he enjoys working here and never felt the need to look anywhere else. In fact, this is the only job Vernard has ever held — a testament to his loyalty and dedication.

We sincerely appreciate Vernard Davis for his unwavering commitment, remarkable service, and the lasting impact he has made on Shared Hospital Services. His legacy is one of consistency, integrity, and heart, and we are grateful to celebrate this incredible milestone with him.
