ALM is the textile industry's best resource. ALM members are laundry processors, linen management professionals, and textile care providers for the hospitality, healthcare, and correctional industries, and the suppliers that service them. ALM is the only organization that represents the entire textile care industry, including the diverse operations of commercial, cooperative, central and on-premise/on-campus laundries, as well as linen distribution companies.
Advancing excellence in the textile care industry through education, certification, research, and best practices.
To be the resource for safety, efficiency, and quality expertise for the textile care industry.
ALM began in 1939 as an association designed for laundry managers employed by on-premise hospital laundries. Processing textiles has changed throughout the past 70+ years and so has ALM. Today, we provide training and educational materials for all aspects of the textile care industry.
Eastern Kentucky University has been ALM’s adult learning educational partner for the Laundry & Linen College for over 35 years, producing biannual programs for our classroom-based training program, which students often use to prepare for certification as a Registered Laundry and Linen Director.
The University of Kentucky Textiles Laboratory provides a blind independent assessment for the ALM Test Piece Quality Assurance Program. ALM members enjoy a discount when participating in this ongoing measure of a facilities wash process.
ALM supports industry-wide education and professional development through partnership in the biennial CLEAN Show. ALM, in conjunction with show partners, provides educational program content and support to the industry’s largest gathering of laundering and drycleaning professionals.
