Messe Frankfurt Purchases The Clean Show

Richmond, Ky., December 6, 2018— Technology is connecting us with people and taking us places we never expected, including within the textile care industry, which continues to evolve in response to changing customer needs. It is only logical that this evolution extends to the world’s largest exposition of laundering, dry cleaning, and textile care services, The Clean Show.
The sponsors of The Clean Show have finalized a deal with Messe Frankfurt to purchase The Clean Show and ensure textile care professionals from around the world are brought together to find the best ways to serve the industry worldwide.
The Association for Linen Management (ALM), with the other four sponsors, Coin Laundry Association (CLA), Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI), Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA), and the Association for Linen, Uniform and Facility Services (TRSA), are aware of the importance of the show and have worked diligently as a collaborative body to provide the industry with the best experience possible. Those efforts were rewarded in early 2018 when The Clean Show was recognized by the trade show industry as one of the 50 Fastest-Growing shows of 2017.
“The decision to explore options for selling The Clean Show was something we undertook very seriously,” said Linda Fairbanks, executive director of ALM. “This wasn’t a decision reached overnight, our goal is to continue to improve the value to attendees and secure a platform that best meets the needs of our exhibitors.”
The five sponsors will continue their collaboration and involvement in the show through The Clean Show Advisory council, continued educational offerings, and support from their respective memberships.
Show attendees and exhibitors can rest assured the transition has been carefully orchestrated. The 2019 Clean Show, scheduled for June 20-23, 2019, in New Orleans, Louisiana, will be managed by the previous show management firm, Riddle and Associates, on behalf of Messe Frankfurt.
The purchase of The Clean Show meshes perfectly with the portfolio of trade fairs organized by Messe Frankfurt for the laundry, dry cleaning, and textile service businesses. Texcare International, the leading trade fair for the sector, has been held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, since 1956. Over recent years, the Messe Frankfurt network has expanded to include trade shows in China and the United Arab Emirates, as well as conferences in growth markets.
“Our top priority is ensuring The Clean Show continues to provide the industry with timely educational programs, innovative equipment and service solutions, and the best in networking opportunities—and we believe this is the best pathway to achieve those goals,” says Fairbanks. “We are reminded of the importance to be forward thinking by one of our country’s early innovators, Benjamin Franklin, who said, ‘Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.’”
