Obtaining an ALM certification leverages your expertise and demonstrates that you are a distinguished professional in the laundry and linen field. Two certification programs are offered. For the manager/supervisor working in middle management, the CLLM program includes a correspondence training program and a proctored examination to test for mastery. Director/General managers, or those aspiring to move up should consider the Registered Laundry and Linen Director certification (RLLD). The RLLD certification demonstrates high level expertise through a challenging examination. It is independent of training.
Certified Laundry and Linen Manager (CLLM)
The CLLM correspondence program is an ideal introductory program to
laundry processing and linen distribution. This is an excellent tool for
managerial personnel entering the laundry industry, including textile
care sales professionals. Viewed as a comprehensive overview of the
issues impacting laundry operations, this program is recognized in the
industry as the minimal educational requirement for many government
Registered Laundry and Linen Director (RLLD)
Certification as an RLLD clearly identifies a level of competency, industry training, and recognition of an individual who continues to value ongoing industry training and standards of practice. Organizations, such as the Veteran's Administration, requires facility management to hold an industry certification such as the RLLD.

Preparation for the RLLD Certification Exam can be obtained through on-the-job training, attending training programs on industry practice, educational materials and/or classroom training such as the American Laundry & Linen College.
The RLLD examination can be taken at an approve testing facility such as a community college or learning center. Certification candidates are responsible for any applicable proctoring fees.
